The couple dated for around 18 months before they decided to marry at St Mary’s Church in Shoeburyness, Essex, in July 1995. 22 years later, Maryanne, 45 and Tommy, 59 are still going pretty strong. A Facebook page was set up by Maryanne’s sister, Lindi Newman, which follows the couple’s romance. This page has over a thousand followers by now and people can’t help but look up to the couple.
Lindi Newman remembers, “The day Maryanne met Tommy she came home with the biggest smile on her face. She couldn’t stop talking about him and asked if he could come for dinner.”
