Who doesn’t love whizzing down a slide? But after a while, it may become a little boring. To fix that problem, a Danish company is building creative one-of-a-kind playgrounds, and they’re absolutely perfect. MONSTRUM was founded by former theater set designers Ole Barslund Nielsen and Christian Jensen. The awesome pair met while working their previous jobs designing sets for Danish theater productions.
The pair has been making elaborate and whimsical playgrounds since 2003 that are designed around stories, from a giant eel enveloping a lighthouse, a sinking ship, or wonky, wonderland houses, these imaginative playgrounds are inviting children to play in Denmark, Sweden, Egypt, and other countries. Trust me, when I say this, adults won’t be able to resist these super-cool playgrounds either. These playgrounds are everybody’s dream come true.
On DOKK1 (Arhus new main library and citizen service center) you will find the playground ‘Kloden’ (English: the globe). The project was donated by the Herman Salling Foundation.

If you as a small child want to feel big go to ‘Fælledparken’ in Copenhagen and visit The Tower Playground with its countless opportunities for physical activity and technological interaction.
The fortress city
The Fortress City is designed as a small adventure land where children can hide and play role games.
