In our society, Depression is taken as being a mental disorder in which an individual is always ‘sad’or is always ‘crying’. But that is the greatest misconception of all. Sadness does not completely define depression. Rather, sadness is just one of the symptoms of depression, nothing more. You can never know what a person is feeling on the inside hence you can never put the label of depression on them through your findings. A person can be laughing in a room full of people with the music blasting but on the inside, he might be the total opposite. One can go out with friends just because of their constant complaints of him being too lazy lately but none of those friends would how much of a struggle was it to simply get out of bed every day. You can never know.
Yet every depressed person forces himself to do things which he does not even have the energy to do more just to become normal. And this makes that person more frustrated, more depressed. These comics show perfectly what a depressed person goes through. The sufferers can relate and others might just try to understand.
It’s not only you who thinks we have changed, we think the same way too.
Mental illness is no different than physical illness. It’s actually more damaging.
